Hydrocotyle tripartita 'Japan' is among our very favorite foreground creeping plants. The growth rate can be quick which for some may be good, and some not so good. Given adequate fertilizer, this is a very easy plant. If you are looking for a dense carpet, we have found that high light and co2 injection are a must.
To plant, you can either push the plant, with the cage still on, into the substrate. As it spreads, the mat may be picked up and placed elsewhere.
Alternatively, you may gently remove from cage and cut mat into multiple pieces to divide throughout the aquarium.
